Shay Mitchell is Canadian actress,model and businesswoman. Most famous for playing Emily Fields, she is an actress and model on the Freeform television show Pretty Little Liars. In Toronto she studied acting lessons after achieving success in dancing and modeling. Mitchell landed guest roles and commercials before getting her breakthrough. Her performance was well-received for her talent by critics as well with people who loved her. The career in film started with the films Dreamland, Mother's Day, and The Possession Of Hannah Grace. Her role in the thriller with a psychological theme "You" has earned her greater recognition. Apart from performing, she also dabbled in writing. The mother of Shay Mitchell was from the Philippines, and her father hailed from Irish and Scottish heritage. Mitchell is also the cousin to Lea Salonga, a famed music theater performer and actress. Mitchell attended Rockridge Secondary, before switching to West Vancouver Secondary. Mitchell was already modeling around the world in her early teens. Following trips through Barcelona, Bangkok and Hong Kong she went back to Toronto and studied acting.
